Located on the shores of the Eastern basin of Lake Kariba, the Gache Gache / Kanyati area covers in excess of 100,000 acres. The area is divided between the mountainous region, a flat woodland area and in the dry season, large flood plains created by the receding lake water.
There is a network of hunting and game viewing roads. Wildlife includes elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, crocodile, hippo, waterbuck and other antelope.

Lake Kariba Lake Kariba is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world. It lies 1300 kilometres up from the Indian Ocean along the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Lake Kariba filled between 1958 and 1963 following the completion of the Kariba dam at its northeastern end, flooding the Kariba gorge on the Zambezi River. Lake Kariba is over 220 kilometres long and up to 40 kilometres in width. It covers an area of 5,580 square kilometers.
